Main Event: Jon Jones (-285) vs. Alexander Gustafsson (+225)
The final time Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson confronted, roughly a year-and-a-half ago, it was the former that emerged with the win. Though many believed Gustafsson could have had him, the judges granted Jones a unanimous victory.
The chances last time around, however, were more in favor of Jones, together with Gustafsson laying anywhere between +800 and +1000 lines. That they’re so close now around speaks to how well he fared in the very first meeting, while also nodding towards just how much he’s improved his fast-twitch stamina.
Even so, Jones, who has not fought in 17 weeks, has mostly dominated everybody he has come across in the Octagon. This battle should take more gas than he’s used to consuming up, but he should pull it out and win the light heavyweight belt.
