Main Event: Jon Jones (-285) vs. Alexander Gustafsson (+225)
The final time Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson faced off, roughly a year-and-a-half past, it was the former who emerged with the win. Though many believed Gustafsson might’ve had him, the judges awarded Jones a unanimous victory.
The odds last time around, however, were even more in favor of Jones, with Gustafsson laying anywhere between +800 and +1000 lines. That they’re so close this time around speaks to how well he fared in the first meeting, while also nodding towards how much he has improved his fast-twitch endurance.
Nevertheless, Jones, who has not fought 17 weeks, has largely dominated everyone he has come around from the Octagon. This battle should take more gasoline than he’s accustomed to consuming up, but he must still pull it out and win the light heavyweight belt.
