(CNN) — Roger Federer slammed Dan Evans 6-2, 6-1, 6-1 in under 90 minutes in the US Open on Friday, and then suggestions he calls the shots in scheduling.
In a rare outburst, the Swiss took exception once asked at his post-match press conference whether he had requested a noon ET beginning time to, basically, give the 58th-ranked Evans much less time to recover after the latter’s Travels battle Thursday that ended at about 6 pm New York time.
Evans along with Lucas Pouille — both clinic partners of Federer’s in the past — were forced to competition their second-round game Thursday instead of Wednesday because of rain while the 20-time grand slam winner was among the few who profited from playing beneath the roof 2 days past.
The 38-year-old the biggest drawing card at the sport had the standard day off at majors between rounds.

“I don’t remember I asked for something,” Federer told reporters. “It is maybe wonderful to be out of sunlight, also, I don’t know, I believed. However, I certainly didn’t do it intentionally. Whether the team asked daily I don’t even know. I know there was concerns to really have a taste.

Evans is one of the brightest, if flawed, talents of those game. For many years he failed to put in the hard work, partied for a tennis player and at 2017 was banned after testing positive for cocaine.
But he can play, among the reasons why Federer encouraged the 29-year-old to train at the mountains in April ahead of the clay swing.
And when they met on the hard courts of the Australian Open in January, Federer won in a tight three-setter, 7-6(5), 7-6(3), 6-3.

Evans stated Friday he had little left in the tank, needing to come out and play after ousting the Frenchman.

The problem already begins there.
“That is tennis. It’s amusement, and the show must go on. I have lost matches this way. I have won any this moment. Luck was on my side. There you’ve got it.
“So, yeah, I understand if Danny is, like, a tiny bit disappointed.”
The demolition job of federer put him back after he had dropped the first set in his first and second rounds — the first time that happened to him at his slam career.
Djokovic:”Virtually hassle free”

Williams’ conqueror in this past year’s contentious 21, Naomi Osaka, meets tennis’ brand new sensation, Coco Gauff, 15, at a clash Saturday and the 37-year-old hinted she’d be watching.
“What do I use it? I really don’t know,” Williams told me. “I think it’s super exciting tennis. Since Naomi is unbelievably youthful, coco is obviously much younger than Naomi, if you were able to say that. Nonetheless, it’s shocking to say that Coco is about six years of age.
“I certainly think that it’s the future of women’s tennis. And I am very excited to be a fan girl and kind of opinion.”
