(CNN) — Roger Federer slammed Dan Evans 6-2, 6-1, 6-1 in under 90 minutes at the US Open on Friday, afterward hints that he calls the shots scheduling.
In a rare outburst, the Swiss took exception when asked at his post-match press conference whether he’d requested a noon ET beginning time to, essentially, provide the 58th-ranked Evans less time to recover following the latter’s Travels battle Thursday that ended at around 6 pm New York time.
Evans along with Lucas Pouille — equally clinic partners of Federer’s previously — were made to competition their second-round match Thursday instead of Wednesday because of rain whereas the 20-time grand slam winner was one of the few who profited from playing beneath the roof two days ago.
The 38-year-old — nevertheless the greatest drawing card in the game had at majors involving rounds.

“You could definitely assert that the scheduling wasn’t in their own favour,” Federer said. “But it’s anyhow not fair for me to perform my match below the roof, do it and sit back, relax another day while he’s fighting out a a three-hour match, whatever it is, even against Pouille. The issue already starts there.
“That is tennis. It’s entertainment, and the show must go on. I have lost matches this manner. I have won some this moment. Luck was on my side. There you’ve got it.
“So, yeah, I know whether Danny is, for example, a little bit frustrated.”
Federer’s demolition job place him back on track after he had lost the first place in his first and second rounds — the first time that happened to him at his slam profession.
Djokovic:”Almost hassle free”
As for Novak Djokoviche maintained guessing during the afternoon in relation to the status of his shoulder, and that he said has been bothering him for almost a couple of weeks. It is going to be a rematch of this 2016 US Open final, that Wawrinka won in four sets. Wawrinka also bested Djokovic in 2015 in the French Open final. In general, Djokovic leads Wawrinka head to head 19-5.
Inside his post-match media conference, Wawrinka was asked when he’s been missed at Federer, Rafael Nadal and Djokovic’s shadows.
“No, I really believe in general I’m quite happy where I am,” Wawrinka stated. “I’m very pleased with the lovers, the people. Like this, when I encounter on the court, I am quite satisfied, Should I look when I arrive within the championship. I’ve got a lot of support. No, I have no problem with this”

Speaking of owning a record-breaking career, Serena Williams reached the fourth round because of a, 6-2 victory over Wimbledon quarterfinalist Karolina Muchova of the Czech Republic.

Williams’ conqueror in a year’s contentious 21, Naomi Osaka, matches tennis’ brand new feeling 15, at a highly anticipated clash Saturday and the 37-year-old hinted she would be seeing.
“How can I make of it? I don’t understand,” Williams told reporters. “I think it’s super enjoyable tennis. Because Naomi is young, coco is obviously much, much younger compared to Naomi, if you were able to say that. Nonetheless, it’s shocking to say that Coco is approximately six years younger.
