Manager Rudi Gutendorf, who also holds a Guinness World Record for training 55 teams in 32 countries across five continents, has died aged 93.
Gutendorf career spanned half a century, for example time in top-flight teams at his native Germany and 18 sides that included Australia, China and Fiji.
‘Restless Rudi’ took his first management function in the 1950s with Swiss unwanted Blue Stars Zurich, while his closing role in direction was together with Samoa in 2003.
German FA vice-president, Dr Rainer Koch, called him a”outstanding ambassador of German football”.
“We shed in him a person who has enriched us throughout his big heart and positivity every day,” his relatives.
