Dermot Weld has verified that his Irish St Leger winner Search For A Song won’t run again this year.
The filly lasted at the Curragh on a steep upward curve, beating last year’s Doncaster St Leger winner Kew Gardens under a trip.
Having finished fourth at the Irish Oaks she subsequently won the Galtres Stakes – and Weld is enthusiastic about what next year may bring.
He explained:”Look For a Song came out of her race but is completed for the year.
“She’s done us proud, and now we look forward to a significant campaign next year.”
Weld was on the mark Champions Weekend with Tarnawa, that obtained the Blandford Stakes, also she has various choices for the season’s end.
He said:”Tarnawa came out of her race both well and has three choices, the Fillies & Mares Race in Ascot at October, the EP Taylor in Canada and the Prix de l’Opera on Arc afternoon.
“We will determine which one closer the time. Both fillies did us proud.”
