We hit a small bump in the road last night when we took a shot underdog when we endorsed the Boston Red Sox. The game was a really competitive one, and neither pitcher lasted long. This game was turned around to both respective bullpens by the sixth inning, along with also the’pens did an terrific job of shutting down the opposing lineup.
Both teams fought to strike the ball, and the Padres three-run first inning was enough to hang onto the triumph taking the match, 3-1. What can you do, even when you have been as hot as we have been in the previous two weeks, winning north of 80 percent of our stakes, you’re going to lose a match here and there. We won’t let it disturb us though as for the pick of today we’ll visit the Rocky Mountains in which the Colorado Rockies host the Atlanta Braves.
The Atlanta Braves are looking to stay hot tonight because they swing for a quick one-game makeup game using the Rockies from Colorado. This game will finish out the season set for the Rockies and also Braves that began in April and was rained out. The Braves are going to have a turnaround as they played in nyc against the Mets yesterday.
But nothing could impede this Braves team down now as they’ve won eight straight games, including back sweeps over Marlins and the Mets. Atlanta has yet to drop a series here in August, and they have done a terrific job of beating teams since they have recent show wins over the Los Angeles Dodgers along with the Minnesota Twins, equally first place teams. In the center of a grueling twenty-six games in twenty five days stretch, the Braves are with the makeup match jammed in here.
For the Rockies, their season has turned to disappointment. They came to the year looking to compete with the Dodgers for the NL West Division crowninstead, they are in last position, a whopping twenty-seven and a half matches of LA.. And things are getting worse as the season winds down for the Rockies that includes the heels of dropping eight out of the initial ten matches on the month and as they’ve lost out six of the past seven matches.
Beginning for the Braves is Julio Teheran (8-8 3.53 ERA), and for the Rockies it is Tim Melville (1-0 1.29 ERA). The game is put at thirteen runs. The Braves are all -143 road favorites. First pitch is scheduled for 12:10 PM PST in Coors Field in Colorado.
Julio Teheran has been great from the second half of the year for the Braves. In July he had a 1.48 ERA in six starts, and the Braves went 5-1. In August , he had one outing against a Mets team that is red-hot, but at his other three starts , he has been leading. In his previous outing, he pitched seven shutout innings against the Marlins. Two starts before he lasted seven innings again, allowing only one earned run contrary to the Miami, the two matches were won by the Braves.
Teheran has achieved a fantastic job of giving his team a chance to win every night outside, and after going 3-4 in his first seven minutes of the year, Atlanta has a 14-6 record in his final twenty begins. Teheran has allowed two runs or less. Since they are fifteenth in the majors in runs Regardless of the lineup obtaining the huge advantage of playing their home games they’ve been swinging a bat as of late.
Tim Melville will be the type of guy when your season has lost all hope, you only start. This guy has pitched only seven games in his big-league career. The Rockies have decided to provide a shot to the twenty-nine-year-old and with their rotation in tatters along with their time over, discovered him playing at the Atlantic League this season. No team would ever allow a man like Melville to pitch innings that is meaningful.
I would be reluctant to back a team that’s been forced to perform with this travel and this many successive games. But I am reminded that the oldest man on this team is similar to year-old and this group of youngsters will not have any difficulty staying energized or motivated. I have a feeling they are going to love hitting the rarefied atmosphere of Coors Field, and it would not shock me at all to see them struck double-digits runs on the mound with a guy like Melville.
From the Braves two games this year at Coors Fieldthey scored a combined fifteen runs. I expect a level of tonight. And with Teheran pitching well right now, I see this game being a blowout. So the Braves are the negative. And the -143 number isn’t a bad one, and that I really do see value in choosing the Braves at the cost.
Nevertheless, as soon as I take a look at the price line, it appears to offer more value. As that run and a half , can be challenging to cover, I’m very cautious of run line bets. But the run point is tailor-made for situations such as this . Where you have one group that can’t shed and can be directing their division. And another group, that can not find ways to win and is entirely out of emptiness.
The game complete with this one is a thirteen and I really don’t find the Rockies scoring too many of these runs. I visit Atlanta winning, and winning big in Colorado. If you ask me, feels like a 9-2 score. So, I put that run and a half and will take a bit of a gamble and pursue the payout that is bigger tonight. Give me the Atlanta Braves on the run line at -107 today from Coors Field!
